Shirley Fay (Floyd) Chavis

Mrs. Shirley Floyd Chavis, age 60, of Hazlehurst, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in Savannah.

Mrs. Chavis was born on September 27, 1963, in Palatka, FL.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Floyd and Elanor Mattie Meadows Floyd, great-granddaughter, Avery Prescott, sister, Cindy Floyd, and brother Clayton Floyd.

She was a homemaker, and she took her job very seriously, she loved to cook, watch TV, go fishing, spend time with her family, and spoiling her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn Chavis of Hazlehurst; daughter, Amy Floyd Waters of Hazlehurst; son, Mark Eric Shepard Jr. (Christina Carter) of Hazlehurst; brother, Ricky Floyd of Hazlehurst; sister, Sandra Adams of Lumber City; eight grandchildren, Lexus (Tyler) Prescott, Kolby Waters, Ebon Waters, Erin Shepard, Kristin Shepard, Annabeth Shepard, Taylor Halligan and Bailey Chavis; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at `1:30pm and funeral service will follow at 2:30pm with Rev. Keith Yawn officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.

All family and friends will serve as Honorary pallbearers.

Kolby Waters, Ashley Waters, Chandler Prescott, Austin Lewis, Ryan Brewer and Andy Griffin will serve as active pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the family.
