Mrs. Shirley Ann Wright Turner, age 76, of Hazlehurst, died Friday, February 23 , 2024, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonville FL.
Mrs. Turner was born June 16, 1947, in Denton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie James Wright Sr. and Azalee Mullis Wright, daughter, Janet Louise Dockery, two stepdaughters, JoAnn Robson, Lou Ann Fulwiler, step-granddaughter, Twyla McCarroll.
She was a retired LPN and a member of the Hazlehurst Church of God.
She was a God-fearing Christian Lady and loved Jesus with all her heart, also she loved Mr. Joe and enjoyed spending time with him, she always said she wanted to be where he was.
She enjoyed going to Church and being with her many friends and listening to Praise and Worship Music on her iHeart. Her family was her Heart and she loved them (every one of them) dearly.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Joe Paul Turner of Hazlehurst; daughter, Malandy Tenise Shollenberger (friend, Tony Petterson) of Sylvania plus two stepdaughters; brothers, Donald Wright (Ann) of South Carolina, Jim Wright (Phyllis) of FL., one stepson; sisters, Virginia Bryant (Chuck) of North Carolina, Linda Campbell of Ga.; one grandson, Cecil Brad Harrell (Brianna) of Baxley, 10-stepgrandchildren; two great grandchildren, Annagrace Lynn Harrell and Kaden Elijah Harrell, 8 step-greatgrandchildren; two step great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 11:00am at the Hazlehurst Church of God with Rev. Shon McEachin, Rev. Charles Brantley, Rev. Darrell Hand and Rev. John Nunes officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
Interment will follow in the Denton Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces, Melissa, Regina, Jeanine, JoAnn, Marie, Samantha Jo, Danielle and Brianna.
Active pallbearers will be Ceil Brad Harrell, Virgil Adams, Wendell Greene, Austin Mullin, Zach Shollenberger, Darrell Hulett and Jason Wright.
Musical selections will be rendered by Charles and Tina Brantley, Laverne Brantley, Malandy Shollenberger and Donald Dixon.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home.
