Mr. A.C. Lewis, Jr., age 90, of Baxley, died Monday, August 4, 2014 at Appling Health Care Center. Mr. Lewis was born April 6, 1924 in Jeff Davis County to the late Austin Calvin Lewis and the late Hattie Herrington Lewis. He was a retired Farmer, a retired Jeff Davis County Bus Driver and member of the Bridgeford Church of God. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarepta Lewis, sisters, Ruby Wilcox, Ruth Quinn and Frankie Jean Howell, brothers, Elbert Lewis, Clinton Lewis and Clifford Lewis. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Hayes Lewis of Hazlehurst; daughters, Dorothy Nell Watkins of Hiddenite, N.C., Kathy Rigdon of Kingsland, Ga., and Patty Ann LA Rosa of Chesapeake, Va.; sons, Jack M. Lewis of Blacksburg, Va., Ted W. Lewis of Shelbyville, Tenn. and Austin W. Lewis of Dublin, Ga.; brother, Vernon Lewis of Hazlehurst; Step-Daughters, Jan Haselden and Pam Mullis both of Alma; Ten Grandchildren, Nineteen Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 11:00am at Bridgeford Church of God with Rev. Milton Thomas, Rev. Calvin Lewis and Rev. Richard Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the church Cemetery. Family may be contacted at the residence, 56 Graham/Zoar Road, Baxley. Mr. Lewis will be placed in the church one hour prior to service. Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements for Mr. A.C. Lewis, Jr., age 90, of Baxley.
