Mrs. Alice Inez Mims Culpepper, age 93, passed away early Wednesday morning at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. She was born November 16, 1921 in Jeff Davis County, GA. Visitation will be held Friday, November 28, 2014 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Wainwright-Parlor Funeral Home in Hazlehurst, GA. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Mims Family Cemetery in Bacon County with Reverend Dewitt Corbin officiating. Mrs. Culpepper was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, gardener and homemaker. Mrs. Culpepper was preceded in death by her husband S. W. Culpepper, who was a WWII veteran, father John Ivey Mims, mother Tressie Riley Mims; four brothers, John Ivey Mims Jr., Rudolph Mims, Hubert Mims, and Wendell Mims; two sisters, Louise Mims Roberson, and Janet Mims Bohannon; and son Clayton Floyd. Survivors include a son William Ivy Culpepper (Sue) of Ringgold, GA and a daughter-in-law Genethel Brewer of Hazlehurst, GA; grandchildren Leslie Culpepper Sawyer, Ivy Culpepper Fennell (Michael) of Ringgold, GA, Casondra Floyd Clements, and Toni Floyd Hand of Hazlehurst, GA; great-grandchildren William Talmadge Fennell, Ashley and Mason Clements, Lakota and Brouk Hand; great-great-grandchild Andalyn Dukes; three nephews Richard Bohannon, Rudolph (Rudy) Mims, Maurice Mims; and five nieces Kathryn Bohannon, Joan Swain, Gail Moye, Judy Cole, & Pam Wimberly.
