Alvin Kent Smith, age 60, of Lumber City, died Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Genesis Hazlehurst Center. Mr. Smith was born January 28, 1953 in Telfair County to the late Herman Chester Smith and the late Mary Magdalene Housend Smith. He was retired from Hazlehurst Mills and attended Lumber City Church of God. Survivors include Two Daughters, Layla (Casey) Altman of Hazlehurst and Tammy Smith Mosley of Lyons; Two Sisters, Glenda Smith Burnett and Donna Jones both of Lumber City; Four Brothers, Kermit Gore of Gray, Sammy Smith & Gary Smith both of Lumber City and William Smith of Alamo; Five Grandchildren, Caylei Altman, Rhiannon Padgett, Jaden Altman, Austin Mosley and Ava Mosley. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8:00PM at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Rev. David Deen and Rev. Tyrone Hutchinson officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery located in Wheeler County. Family may be contacted at the residence of Donna Jones, 106 Shadydale Road, Lumber City.
