Obituary

Mrs. Anita Dyal Silas, age 64, of Hazlehurst died Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at her residence.


Mrs. Silas was born June 28, 1958 in Duvall County.


She is preceded in death by her parents, John Lester Dyal and Ella Faye Wheeler Dyal, her siblings, B.J. Hughes, Johnny Hughes, Charles Dyal, Roger Dyal, Johnny Dyal, Pearl Newham, and Mary Medders.


She was previously employed with Walmart and attended Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was definitely an Outdoors person, she enjoyed fishing, reading, the sunshine, and working in her yard. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.

Survivors include her husband, Galen Silas of Hazlehurst; her daughters, Jammie (Jaime) Torres of Hazlehurst and Gayla (Keith) Harrellson of Hazlehurst; sons, Joey Silas of Douglas and Kelly Silas of Hazlehurst; brothers, Tony  (Donna) Hughes of Lumber City and J.L. Dyal of Alabama; sisters, Sandra Taylor of Hazlehurst and Deborah (Jr.) Garret of Hazlehurst; special caregiver, niece, April McDonald of Hazlehurst; sister-in-law, Carol Silas McLeod (Jimmy) of Texas; grandchildren, Nickolas Chaca, Jordan Torres, Abigail Torres, Ainsleigh Torres,  Caitlin Kirkland, Gabriel Silas, Lauren Harrelson, Ryan Harrelson, Brian Harrelson, and Corey Harrelson; seven great-grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews also survive.


Visitation and Funeral Services will be held, Thursday, February 16, 2023, in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home, visitation will begin at 1:00 pm and the funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Donna Mullins and Mr. Corey Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.


Active pallbearers will be Jaime Torres, Kevin Taylor, Kelly Silas, Nickolas Chaca, Gabriel Silas, and Raciel Rubio.


The family may be contacted at the Silas residence, 15 River Run Road, Hazlehurst.


The Silas Family and Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home respectfully ask all in attendance to continue to follow social distancing guidelines set by our local health district and the CDC.
