Austin Hand Jr., age 63, of Hazlehurst, died Monday, July 03, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Hand was born August 24, 1953 in Jeff Davis County to the late Austin Hand Sr. and the late Etta Johns Hand. He was a retired truck driver with Walmart and member of Hazlehurst Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by sisters, JoAnn Jeffcoat, Lillie Hand, Faye Hand and brother, Tom Hand. Survivors include his wife, Amy Rebecca Kersey Hand of Hazlehurst; daughters, Chrissy Simmons and Katie Simmons of Hazlehurst; sisters, Mae Hand of Hazlehurst, Rose Hand of Vienna and Loretta Harden of Warner Robins; brothers, Doffis Hand of Hazlehurst, Rex Hand of Vienna, Jack Hand of Hazlehurst and Jimbo Hand of Hazlehurst; several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 05, 2017 in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home, visitation will begin at 1:00pm and funeral service to follow at 2:00pm with Minister Bobby Lairsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. The family can be contacted at the residence, 78 Hinson Farm Road, Hazlehurst.
