Obituary

Miss. Betty Jean Anderson, age 83, of Snipesville, died Monday, December 28, 2015, at Lumber City Nursing Home. Miss. Anderson was born May 10, 1932 in Jeff Davis County to the late Jacob Walter Anderson and the late Evelyn Anderson White. She was a retired Executive Secretary with the City of Valdosta with 42 years of service and a member of Macedonia Church of God. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Roger Anderson and Paul Anderson; niece, Melaine Newman Simmons. Survivors include her sister, Mrs. Carolyn (John M.) Newman of Snipesville; brother, Allen (Jean) Anderson of Snipesville; several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5:00-7:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Macedonia Church of God at 11:00am with Rev. Phillip Cook, Rev. Robert E. Varnadore and Rev. Van McCall officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. Miss. Anderson will lie in state one hour prior to service. Family may be contacted at the residence of Jean and Allen Anderson, 831 Hwy 107, Denton. Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements for Miss. Betty Jean Anderson, age 83, of Snipesville.
