Buck Cain, age 87, of Hazlehurst, died Monday, March 31, 2014 in the Jeff Davis Hospital. Mr. Cain was born July 28, 1926 in Appling County to the late William Ballard Cain and the late Versie Crosby Cain. He was a Veteran serving in the United States Army during World War II, served as Clerk of Court for Jeff Davis County from 1965 until1980 and was a member of the Lions Club. He was a member of the Zoar United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and Song Leader. He is preceded in death by his sister, Corrine Cain Garrett and brothers, William Barney Cain and George W. Cain. Survivors include his wife, Betty Cain of Hazlehurst; Daughter and Son-In- Law, Susan and Dwayne Creamer of Hazlehurst; Two Sons and Daughters-in-Law, Tim and Janellda Cain and Dennis and Vanny Cain all of Hazlehurst; Sister, Evelyn Haymons of Ellenwood; Brother, Buddy Cain of Baxley; Five Grandchildren, Michael Cain, Kalin Creamer, Karson Creamer, Josh Cain and Matthew Cain; Two Great-Grandchildren, Shelby Kate Cain and Isla Beth Cain; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Toler officiating. Interment will follow in the Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery. The family may be contacted at the residence, 99 Oak Ridge Drive, Hazlehurst. Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements for the funeral of Buck Cain, age 87, of Hazlehurst.
