Carolyn Jackson, age 85, of Hazlehurst, died Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia. Ms. Jackson was born May 16, 1931 in Jeff Davis County to the late Jack King and the late Lois Girtman Atkinson. She was the owner and operator of Colonial Flower Shop for 39 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ben Jackson, brothers, Jack (June Bug) King, Jr., Johnny Atkinson, Stanley King, sisters, Sandra Faye King and aunt, Lucille King Horne. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Terry Lane and Freddie Stone of Hazlehurst; Sisters, Linda (Wayne) Fussell of Putney, Melanie (Harvey) Roddenberry of Macon and Gail Harris of Milledgeville; Grandchildren, Chris (Tori) Stone of Baxley and Matthew Stone of Hazlehurst; Great-Grands, Eli Stone, Anna Lane Stone and Malakai Stone all of Baxley; Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 2:00pm at Oakland Baptist Church with Rev. Justin McLellan officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakland Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Jackson will lie in state one hour prior to service.
