Mrs. Carolyn Davis Thompson, age 76, of Hazlehurst, died Friday, October 30, 2015 at Memorial University Hospital in Savannah. Mrs. Thompson was born January 31, 1939 in Telfair County to the late Charlie Davis and the late Clara Hullett Davis. She was employed with the Jeff Davis Ledger as Office Manager and member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church. Survivors include her Husband, Vernon Thompson of Hazlehurst; Three Daughters and Sons-in-Law, Vernice (Ernesto) Lopez of Hazlehurst, Shelia (Wayne) Murphy of Hazlehurst and Becky (Johnny) Waters of Hazlehurst; Three Sisters, Gwen Bragg of Hazlehurst, Maudeline Thompson of Midway and Maggie Roth of Spartanburg, S.C.; Five Grandchildren, Jason Murphy, Anthony Hughes, Constance Woodcock, Jessica Griffin and Crystal Gayle Hughes; Thirteen Great-Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 31, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, November 01, 2015 at 4:00pm in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Rev. David Griffin officiating and eulogy given by Mr. Tommy Purser.
