Clifford Monroe Nelms, age 90, of Hazlehurst, died Friday, June 14, 2013 at Appling Healthcare System under the care of Serenity Hospice. Mr. Nelms was born November 28, 1922 in Jeff Davis County to the late Willis Quitman Nelms and the late Mattie Turner Nelms. He was a Painter and member of Southside Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Robbie Waters Nelms, five Sisters and three Brothers. Survivors include daughters and Sons-In-Law, Nancy (Jimmy) Gay and Susan Nelms both of Hazlehurst, Beckie (Jackie) Jackson of Savannah and Beth (Randy) Denby of Willacoochie; Sons and Daughters-In-Law, Jeff (Donna) Nelms of Franklin, Mike (Marie) Nelms of Hazlehurst and Jim Nelms of Carrollton; 17 Grandchildren, 20 Great-Grandchildren; nephew, Steve Dixon; cousin, Ethyl Phillips and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 17, 2013 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Chaney officiating.
