Obituary

David Ambus Colter, age 66, of Lumber City, died Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at his residence after an extended illness. Mr. Colter was a native and lifelong resident of Telfair County. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Bell Street Church of God. He was born July 5, 1947 to the late Freddie Ambus Colter and was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Elizabeth Colter. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Wayne Devaul and Christi and Curtis Snipes all of Baxley; 1 Son David B. Colter of Lumber City; Mother, Mrs. Susie Colter Funderburk of Lumber City; two brothers and sister-in-law, Thomas and Wendy Colter of Hazlehurst and Nolan Colter of Lumber City; 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be held Friday evening, December 13, 2013 from 6:00-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Rev. David Deen officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City. The family may be contacted at the residence of Susie Colter Funderburk, 24 Virginia Ave., Lumber City, Ga. Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home in charge of arrangements for Mr. David Ambus Colter of Lumber City.
