Mr. David Earl Leggett, age 81, of Hazlehurst, died Tuesday, July 07, 2020 at Meadows Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Leggett was born May 21, 1939 in Appling County. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, was retired from Hazlehurst Housing Authority and a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church.

He was always, so happy for the family to be together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. Lucille Miller Leggett and Mr. Thomas Roscoe Leggett of Baxley, a brother, retired Staff Sgt. Roscoe Laverne Leggett of Athens AL.

He is survived by his wife, Lawanda Minton Leggett of 56 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Angie Leggett of Hazlehurst and Ben and Carmen Leggett of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Matthew (Melissa) Leggett, Michael Leggett, Logan Leggett and Caleb Leggett; a great-grandson, Hunter Leggett;  nieces, Yvonne Rentz and Mary Ann (Rev. Dannie) Hix; several cousins also survived.

A private family service will be held in his honor and he will be laid to rest in the Williamson/McCormick Cemetery with Rev. Keith Yawn officiating
