Ms. Deloras McGaha, age 68, of Hazlehurst, died Monday, April 10, 2017, at Memorial Hospital in Savannah after a brief illness. Ms. McGaha was born March 6, 1949, in Greenville, S.C., to the late Charlie R. and Lillian Thigpen McGaha. She was also preceded in death by four of her furbabies, Tank, Chloe, Benji, and Little Bit. She was a 1967 graduate of Jeff Davis High School, and then became a Licensed Practical Nurse before earning her Registered Nurse degree from South Georgia College in 1982. She was an emergency room nurse, a job she loved, before later becoming an operating room nurse. Ms. McGaha was also a traveling nurse for several years, enjoying working in New York, New Orleans, California, Florida, and Ohio, among other places. Ms. McGaha loved the beach, dazzling sunsets, plants and flowers, all critters great and small, and anything even remotely related to a flamingo, either the tacky plastic ones or real ones. Her hearty, irresistible laugh was so boisterous could stop even a train in its tracks. She was also quite outspoken and let you know exactly what you thought of her, whether you liked it or not. Survivors include her ever-present twin sister Delaine; sisters Joyce Marie Darley of Hazlehurst and Patricia "Pat
