Mr. Don Wilkes, age 83, of Hazlehurst, died Monday, April 05, 2021 at Bacon County Hospital in Alma.

Mr. Wilkes was born December 19, 1937 in Telfair County. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Paul Wilkes and Sarah Pittman Wilkes and his beloved wife, Geraldine Carter Wilkes.  He was formerly retired from Hazlehurst Mills and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Beth Wilkes of Douglas; grandson, Joel Wilkes of Douglas; brother, Paul Wilkes (Kathy) of Hazlehurst; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 07, 2021 at 2:00pm at Mt Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Brazzell officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be his Hillcrest Church family and staff members at Twin Oaks Nursing Home.
