Mrs. Dorothy Hester Smith, age 87, of Hazlehurst, died Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Bryant Nursing Center in Cochran. Mrs. Smith was born May 12, 1931 in Jeff Davis County to the late Riley Hesters and the late Viola White Hesters. She was retired from Ashley's Outlet and Elton's Décor and was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richey Smith and sons, Ward Smith and Kenneth Smith. Survivors include four daughters, Janice Bruce of Dublin, Susan Foskey of Bonaire, Rena Waters of Hazlehurst and Teresa Harper of Lyons; several nieces and nephews, twelve grandchildren, twenty six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive. Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 02, 2018 at Elizabeth Baptist Church, visitation will begin at 1:00pm and funeral will follow at 2:00pm with Rev. Keith Yawn officiating. Interment will follow in the Hazlehurst City Cemetery. Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements for Mrs. Dorothy Hester Smith, age 87, of Hazlehurst.
