Mrs. Dorothy M. Vahl Taylor, age 75, of Hazlehurst, died Friday, August 13, 2021 at Community Hospice House in Vidalia.

Mrs. Taylor was born December 15, 1945 in Cook County, Illinois.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Leonard Vahl and Katherine Ann Evangelista Vahl, sister, Delores Vahl Perkins, and grandson, Trace Lawrence Lee. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and  caregiver. She loved crocheting, painting, reading and was always cooking and sewing for her family. At one time she operated an in house daycare and enjoyed caring for those babies. She also enjoyed keeping up with family and friends on facebook.

Survivors include her husband, Terry Dan Taylor of Hazlehurst; two sons, Joseph Adam Taylor of Hazlehurst and Daniel Robert Taylor (Mandi) of Hazlehurst; daughters, Victoria Marie Taylor Davis (Rodney) of Hazlehurst, Deborah Taylor Rowland (Shawn) of Hazlehurst, Barbara Ann Smith (Brad) of Savannah and Terri Diane Taylor of Hazlehurst; seventeen grandchildren, Abbi Taylor, Brett Taylor, Ashton Taylor, Annalynn Taylor, Rayne Davis, Hailey Herrington, Madison Pitts, Miles Rowland, Kerrington Rowland, Izzy Smith, Paxton Smith, Carsynn Taylor, Graci Taylor, Zoie Taylor, Kross Taylor, Maclay Taylor, and Grey Taylor. She is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews.

Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Hillcrest Baptist Church, visitation will begin at 10:00am and service will follow at 11:00am with Rev. Brian Brazzell officiating. Interment will follow in the Liberty Community Church Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ms. Sheryl Copeland P.A, Donna Norris, special nieces and nephews, Deborah Anderson, Karen Emerick, Tony Perkins, Kathy NeeSmith, Krissy Oliver, Dottie Hutcheson and Connie Durrence.

Active pallbearers will be Ashton Taylor, Cody Heath, Cole Yawn, Matt Rowell, Carsynn Taylor and Miles Rowland.
