Mr. Doy Swain, age 74, of Hazlehurst, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Genesis Healthcare in Hazlehurst. Mr. Swain was born October 02, 1941 in Jeff Davis County to the late Dude Swain and the late Odessa Yarbrough Swain. He was a retired Maintenance Supervisor from Hazlehurst Mills and a member of Southside Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Joan Mims Swain of Hazlehurst; Son and Daughter-in-Law, Jeffrey and Connie Swain of Jesup; Daughters and Son-in-Laws, Cherie and Randy Smith of Hazlehurst and Chanta and Tracy Brown of Roanoke, Ala; Six Grandchildren, Tyler Swain, Allison Smith, Ivey Grace Smith, Caitlin Brown, Caroline Brown and Camille Brown; one Great-Granddaughter, Aniston Swain; four Sisters, Hazle Dyal, Opal Carroll, Winifred Mathis and Ethlyn Creech; one Brother, Valdus (Boody) Swain; several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 1, 2016 at 2:00pm at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Deek Dubberly and Rev. Charles Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the Satilla Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Swain will be placed in the church one hour prior to service.
