Dr. Barbara Jean King, age 75, of Denton passed away Saturday, August 07, 2021 at Serenity Hospice Place in Dublin.

Mrs. King was born April 21, 1946 in Byron, Georgia and is preceded in death by her parents, Kingman Price Gibson and Velma Patterson Gibson and sister, Patricia Goman. For thirty years, she and her husband served in prison jail ministries and drug and alcohol ministries. She loved to dance, play scrabble, sew and was a member of Jacob's Well Ministry. She was a College professor at Clayton State College

Survivors include her husband, Ken King of Snipesville Ga.; two daughters, Kimberly Anne King of California and Donna Blount of Alamo; four grandchildren, Macie King, Keaton King, Kadie Robbins and Adam Blount; two great-grandchildren, Payten Warnock and Bentley Robbins.

Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2021 in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home; visitation will begin at 12:30pm and funeral service will follow at 1:00pm with Rev. James Smith, Rev. Billy Sellers and Rev. Ken King.  Interment will follow in the Mt Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be all employees of Serenity Hospice in Dublin and Snipesville Community Bible Study.

Active pallbearers will be Larry Dale King, Adam Blount, Tim Smith, Mike Mize, James Smith and Justin King.

The King family and Wainright Parlor Funeral Home respectfully ask all in attendance to continue to follow the social distancing guidelines set by our local health district and the CDC.
