Mrs. Edna Ann Newham Johnson, age 83, of Hazlehurst, died Friday, March 19, 2021 at her residence.

Mrs. Johnson was born January 03, 1938 in Jeff Davis County.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Wallace Newham and Ocie McEachin Newham, father of her children, Earl Johnson,  husband, Richard Taylor and sisters, Kathryn Waters and Jo White. She was a retired seamstress with Stardust and a member of Graham Baptist Church.  Mrs. Johnson will be sadly missed by all that loved her and knew her.

Survivors include her daughters, Betty Harper of Augusta, Laura Rae of Hazlehurst, Sonya Gibson of Hazlehurst and Janie Johnson of Hazlehurst; son, Bruce Johnson of Hazlehurst;

Brother, Walter Newham (Pearl) of Hazlehurst; thirteen grandchildren, Jason Harper, Johnathon Harper, Heather Collins, Jack Harper, Sabrina Richardson, Stephanie Thornton, Brandi Johnson, Lana Owings, Chris Carter, Levi Carter, Matthew Carter, Bryan Johnson and Justin Williams; several great and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral graveside services will be held Monday, March 22, 2021 at 11:00am at Hazlehurst City Cemetery with Rev. Tyrone Hutchinson and Rev. Bryan Brazzell officiating.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Johnson family and Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home respectfully ask all in attendance to wear a mask and follow the social distancing set by our local health district and the CDC.
