Mr. Edward Daniel Hand, age 92, of Hazlehurst, died Friday, March 24, 2017 at Lumber City Nursing Home. Mr. Hand was born June 21, 1924 in Jeff Davis County to the late Charlie Duncan Hand and the late Essie Bell Wilcox Hand. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II, retired Mechanic from Hazlehurst Mills and member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Butler Hand, brother, Raymond Hand and grandson, Chris Lytle. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Ricky Lytle of Hazlehurst; son, Jerry Hand of Denton, Texas; Sister, Rachael Hill of Hinesville; two grandchildren, Danielle Dixon of Sicily and David Hand of Dallas, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Allie Beth Lytle, Payten Lytle, Greyson Dixon and Zachary Dixon. Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2017, in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home, Visitation starting at 1:00pm and Funeral Services to follow at 2:00pm with Rev. Andy Williams and Mr. Jimmie Ryles officiating. Interment will follow in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.
