Mrs. Elise Hand Post, age 85, of Hazlehurst, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at her residence. Mrs. Post was born August 15, 1931 in Uvalda to the late John W. Hand and the late Georgia Simmons Hand. Mrs. Post was a Homemaker and member of the Elizabeth Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by a great-grandson, Sanders Marshall, brothers, John W. Hand, Truitt Hand and Elma Hand. Survivors include her husband, Mr. Les Post of Hazlehurst; two daughters and son-in-laws, Pattie and Randy McLeod of Hazlehurst and Sabrina and Robert Miller of Hazlehurst; son and daughter-in-law, Lester and Caroline Post of Waynesboro; brother, Donald Hand; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 5:00-7:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 2:00pm at Elizabeth Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Yawn officiating. Interment will follow in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Post will lie in state one hour prior to service.
