Elizabeth Chavis, age 85, of Hazlehurst, died Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Lumber City Nursing Home. Mrs. Chavis was born August 31, 1929 in Telfair County to the late Lee Bass and the late Mary Caldwell Bass. She was a homemaker and member of the Oakland Baptist Church. Survivors include her Husband, David Chavis of Hazlehurst; Daughter and Son-in-Law, Myra and Wayne Murphy of Hazlehurst; Grandson, Nash Murphy of Hazlehurst and several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be held Saturday from 12:00-2:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Williams officiating.
