Elizabeth Vilillian Simmons, age 93, of Hazlehurst, died Monday, February 15, 2016 at Lumber City Nursing and Rehab. Mrs. Simmons was born September 26, 1922 in Montgomery County to the late Ezra Minton and the late Bonnie McCoy Minton. She was retired from Jeff Davis Hospital and a member of Southside Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her Son, Joey Simmons. Survivors include her Husband, Edgar Simmons of Hazlehurst; Son and Daughter-in-Law, Eddie and Susan Simmons of North Augusta, South Carolina; Granddaughter, Shelby Simmons of North Augusta, South Carolina; Sister, Juanita Mims of Hazlehurst; Niece, Lawanda Leggett of Hazlehurst; several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 11:00am at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Deek Dubberly and Rev. Jeffery Spell officiating. Interment will follow in the Bridgeford Church of God Cemetery. Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements for Elizabeth Vilillian Simmons, age 93, of Hazlehurst.
