Mrs. Estelle Douglas Powell, age 97, of Graham, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018, in the Appling Health Care. Mrs. Powell, the daughter of the late Steven Douglas and Mattie Hutchinson Douglas, was a native of Jeff Davis County. She was a seamstress formerly employed with Hazlehurst Manufacturing Co., and a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hammond Powell; children, Marie Murray, and Herman Powell. Survivors include daughter, Jean Crosby of Eulee, FL; sons, Edward Powell of Jacksonville, FL., and Ronald Powell of Graham; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grands, and 15 great-great-grands. Visitation will be held Tuesday in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home from 1:00 till 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Estelle Douglas Powell, age 97, of Graham.
