Eugene Sammons, age 79, of Lumber City, died Monday, February 13, 2017 at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. Mr. Sammons was born November 16, 1937 in Wheeler County to the late Johnnie Lawton Sammons and the late Willie Viola Clark Sammons. He was retired from Amoco Fabrics and Fibers and a member of the Lumber City Church of God. Survivors include his Wife, Sue Brewer Sammons of Lumber City; Daughter and Son-in-law, Andrea Sammons and Dan McCranie of Eastman; Sons and Daughter-in-Law, Christopher Sammons of Alamo and Kevin and Sheila Sammons of Peachtree City; Sister, Genia Sammons Clark of Alamo; Brother, Rev. Lawton Sammons of Cordele; Six Grandchildren, One Great-Grandchild and several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5:30-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 11:00am at Lumber City Methodist Church with Rev. David Deen, Rev. Lawton Sammons and Rev. Jim Osborn officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City. Family may be contacted at the residence, 39 Thompson Drive, Lumber City.
