Mr. Felix Milton Simmons, age 68, of Hazlehurst, died Sunday, May 03, 2015 at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia. Mr. Simmons was born September 01, 1946 in Melrose, Fl. to the late Felix Simmons and the late Vertie Hughes Simmons. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War, a retired Carpenter with Ryan's Family Steak House and a member of Satilla Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Helen Towns Simmons of Hazlehurst; Daughter, Shannon Simmons of Gainesville, Fl.; Step-Daughter, Chanta Smith of Hazlehurst; Step-Son, Tracy Ellis of Hazlehurst; Sister and Brother-In-Law, Rosie Simmons (Ron) Wagner of Orlando, Fl.; Brother, John Sidney Simmons of Newport Richey, Fl.; Two Granddaughters, One Step-Granddaughter and several nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be held Monday, May 04, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 05, 2015 at Satilla Free Will Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Satilla Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Simmons will lie in state one hour prior to services. Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements for Mr. Felix Milton Simmons, age 68, of Hazlehurst.
