Mr. Fred Wilcox, age 72, of Hazlehurst, died Sunday, September 8, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Wilcox was born March 7, 1941 in Jeff Davis County to the late Robert Monroe Wilcox, Sr. and the late Fannie Mae Hand. He was a member of the Circle of Friends and The Church of God. He was preceded in death by his sister, Wanell Wilcox, Brothers, Robert Wilcox, Jr., Lonnie Wilcox, Carlos Wilcox, Homer Wilcox and Walter Wilcox. Survivors include a Sister, Agnes Kersey of Hazlehurst; Brother, Billy Wilcox of Hazlehurst; a Special Niece and Nephew, Christy & Keith Ashmore; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday evening at his residence, 557 Nina Gay Road, Hazlehurst. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 3:00pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Hal Jeffcoat & Rev. M.L. Ricks officiating. Interment will follow in Church Cemetery. Mr. Wilcox will be placed in the Church 1 hour prior to service time.
