Mr. Gary Allen Burkett, age 49, of   Denton, died Monday, April 19, 2021 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Mr. Burkett was born October 21, 1971 in Douglas.  He is preceded in death by his parents, James Edward Burkett and Edna Levine Meeks Burkett, and brother, Freddie Burkett.  Gary was larger than life and was dramatic to the end. Go Dawgs and never Roll Tide and it's time for Gator tail snacking. We Love You Gary Allen!  He was an avid golfer, fisherman and was a member of Mt Pleasant Baptist Church. Gary will be sadly missed all that knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila Crawford Burkett of Denton; son, Michael Burkett of Douglas; daughter and son-in-law, Cassie and Chuy Osorio of Uvalda; brother, Eddie Burkett (Connie) of Douglas; sisters, Ann Hall (Donald) of Douglas and Rhonda Waters (Arley) of Nichols; six grandchildren, Paige, Mason, Ryleigh, Alea, Brandon, and Ayden; loads of nieces,  nephews, and great nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date at Jeff Davis Middle School.
