George Robert Carter, age 70, of Hazlehurst, died May 05, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Carter was born in Jeff Davis County to the late Carol Monroe Carter and the late Elizabeth Ann Bamforth Carter. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Conflict and was retired from Amercord. Survivors include one daughter, Jackie Rodenberry of Hazlehurst; four sons, Greg Hughes of Hazlehurst, George Robert Carter Jr. (Bobby) of Carrolton, Michael Sidney Carter of Hazlehurst and Billy Carter of Hazlehurst; sisters, Joy Medders of WestPointand Carmen Wood of Ray City; brothers, Carol Carter Jr. of Calhoun, Ronnie Carter of Chatsworth, David Mitchell Carter of Columbus and Seth Gary Carter of Lafayette; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survived. A Memorial Service will be held, Sunday, May 07, 2017 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor with Rev. Jaime Rivera officiating. Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements for George Robert Carter, age 70, of Hazlehurst.
