Mr. George (Shot) Hand, age 75, of Hazlehurst, died Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia. Mr. Hand was born November 20, 1943 in Jeff Davis County to the late Elias Hand and the late Leaty Mae Whittle Hand. He was retired from South Eastern Freight Lines and a member of Hazlehurst Pentecostal Church. He is preceded in death by his son, Tommy Edward Hand, siblings, Lona Mae Moody, Martha Nell Pridgen, Edna Earl Leigh, Wesley Hand, James Hand and Joe Allen Hand. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Betty Jean Sanders Hand of Hazlehurst; daughter, Sheila Hand and Fiancé, David Hamm; sister, Linda Jane Ramage; two granddaughters, Ali Grace Hand and Lynsey Brooke Sellers; several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5:00-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 03, 2019 at 2:00pm at Hazlehurst Pentecostal Church with Rev. Thomas Colter and Rev. Kevin Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in the Denton City Cemetery. The family can be reached at the residence, 70 West Palm Road, Hazlehurst.
