Mr. George Pickren, age 89, of Hazlehurst, died Thursday, August 20, 2020 at his residence.

Mr. Pickren was born May 21, 1931 in Jeff Davis County to the late Elijah Pickren and the late Rose Rowland Pickren. He was formerly employed with Otis Elevator, Amercord and was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. He  was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia P. Pruitt and son, George Lavan Pickren.

Survivors include his wife of almost 62 years, Ruby Taylor Pickren, of Hazlehurst; son, Wade Pickren of Brunswick; sisters, Carrie Walker of Jacksonville Fla, Bessie Tuten of Nashville Tenn., Marion O'Conner of Hazlehurst and Dora Jean Lewis of Hazlehurst; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be held Monday, August 24, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Wilcox and Rev. Jinker Horten officiating.

All friends in attendance will serve as honorary pallbearers.
