Gloria Fay Hewett Shipes, age 64, of Hazlehurst died Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Jeff Davis Hospital.

Mrs. Shipes was born October 03, 1955 in Florida to the late Alvin Earl Hewett and the late Quinelle Lane Moye.

She was retired from Hazlehurst Mills with over twenty eight years of service and was a member of Oakland Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry John Hewett and William Larry Hewett, son-in-law, James Paul Toth.

Fay was married to her best friend for 46 years. She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting and giving the beautiful creations out to friends and family.  Also she loved her church family at Oakland Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, George (Bo) Shipes of Hazlehurst; Daughters, Dianne Shipes Reffner and Tina Shipes Bennett (Frankie) all of Hazlehurst; brother, Jerry Hewett (Dedra) of Baxley; sister, Tammy Roberson Miller (Robert) of Graham; five grandchildren, Cortney D. Croft (Sean), Seth A. Mclendon (Kayia), Ethan Sellers (Audrey), Brett W, Reffner and Devin Sellers; three great-grandchildren, Liam J. Bomar, Anakin J. Bomar and Xavier J. Hutcheson; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Private family graveside services will be held Saturday, August 01, 2020 at 2:00pm at Oakland Baptist Church with Rev. Royce Hulett officiating.
