Mr. Herman W. Carter, age 88, of Hazlehurst, died Wednesday, December 05, 2018 at Phoebe Hospice in Albany. Mr. Carter was born May 14, 1930 in Jeff Davis County to the late Ralph Carter and the late Ruby Mae Pair Carter. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, retired truck driver with Carolina Freight and a member of Southside Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Loree Thomas Carter. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Ron Collins of Leesburg; son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Linda Carter of Dublin; sister, Margaret Horton of Macon; grandchildren, Zack and Brittany Hobby of Savannah, Shane Carter of Dublin, Jonathan Collins of Seattle, WA and Brad Collins of Statesboro; several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Sunday, December 09, 2018 at Southside Baptist Church, visitation will begin at 2:00pm and funeral service will follow at 3:00pm with Rev. Robert Wigley officiating. Interment will follow in the Hazlehurst City Cemetery. Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements for Mr. Herman W. Carter, age 88, of Hazlehurst.
