Mr. Hilton Bohannon, age 83, of Hazlehurst, died Friday, January 01, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Bohannon was born July 22, 1932 in Telfair County to the late Tom Bohannon and the late Erma Purvis Bohannon. He was retired from Continental Can Company as a Timber Cruiser where he was employed for 34 years and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his brothers, J.T. Bohannon, Weldon Bohannon, Virgil Bohannon and Tom Bohannon Jr.; sisters, Quida Butler, Nell Ursrey Hand, Willa Mae Bell and Hattie Bell Davenport. Survivors include his wife, Helen Harrison Bohannon of Hazlehurst; Daughter and Son-in-Law, Diane (John) Bookhardt of Hazlehurst; Son and Daughter-in-Law, Bruce (Lisa) Bohannon of Hazlehurst; Others, Aleesia (Jeffery) Crawford of Hazlehurst, Letisha Miles of Hazlehurst and Lee (Becky) Miles of Hazlehurst; Grandchildren, Charles (Tonya) Creamer, Brittany Bohannon, Ben (Amber) Vaughn, Cathrine (John) Dowdy, Allen (Ashley) Crawford, Chris Miles and Bradley Miles; Great-Grandchildren, Caitlin Creamer, Cody Creamer, Hudson Crawford, Willow Black, Alex Dowdy, Haygen Dowdy, Parker Vaughn and Bryson Vaughn; several nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 02, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, January 03, 2016 at Southside Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Deek Dubberly and Rev. Andy Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City. Mr. Bohannon will be placed in the church to lie in state one hour prior to services. The family will be at the residence of Hilton and Helen Bohannon, 1018 Uvalda Highway, Hazlehurst, Ga 31539.
