Mrs. Ida Blanche King Ellis, age 95, of Denton, Ga. died Sunday, March 22, 2015 at home under the care of Serenity Hospice. Mrs. Ellis was born March 13, 1920 in Bleckley County, Georgia to the late Joseph Calhoun King and Ola Alberta Bethune King. She lived most of her life in Jeff Davis County on the family farm. She attended Middle Georgia College, and received a Bachelor Degree at Georgia Southern in Statesboro. She taught school in Bleckley and Jeff Davis Counties, retiring in 1980. She was an active member of Retired Educators Association and a faithful member of Denton Baptist Church. Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Gaines (W.G.) Ellis and nine Siblings; Rosa Jane Huling, Nathan Hughes King, Joseph Harrell King, Lillian Grace Howard, Thomas Jackson King, James Henry King, Walter Kelly King, Robert Bruce King and Nancy Catherine King. She is survived by Two Daughters, Rosa Kay (David) Holland of Statesboro, and Ola Beth (Wesley) Willis of Denton; Six Grandchildren, David Levi (Melissa) Holland, Warren King (Amy) Holland, Joshua Preston (Kara) Holland, Daniel Clinton (Patricia) Willis, Matthew Ellis Willis and Kerrie Beth Willis; Eight Great-Grandchildren, Madelyn Leigh Holland, Ellis Christie Holland, Samantha Mary Holland, Marissa Sora Willis, Makinze Simone Willis, Gaines Levi Holland, Charley Ann Holland and Dominic Colton Willis; Sister-In-Laws, Katherine King and Marcia King; many nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be held Monday, March 23, 2015 from 6-8pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 11am at Denton Baptist Church with the Rev. Joey Andrews and Rev. Daniel Gilliam officiating. Interment will follow in Palms Memorial Garden. Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements for Mrs. Ida Blanche King Ellis, age 95, of Denton.
