Mrs. Ida Mae Jenkins (Robbs) of Hazlehurst, GA. departed this life on March 25, 2019. She was born on January 3, 1939 in Bogansville Township, Union County, South Carolina to William and Ena (Faulks) Robbs. May 14, 1960 Ida Mae was joined in marriage to Thomas Graham Jenkins, Sr. The majority of her life was spent in Newberry County, SC raising eight children and helping on the farm. She loved spending time with her family, attending church, gardening, canning, and cooking. Ida Mae is survived by one brother, Sam Robbs of Laurens, SC, five daughters, Joyce Lancaster and Carol Jenkins of Union, SC, Audrey and husband Manford Gilbert of Hazlehurst, GA, Janet and husband Jim Neeson of Charlton Heights, WV, Bonnie and husband Roger Ray of Berryville, AR, one son, Johnny and wife, Fonda Jenkins of Farmington, AR, 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. As well as many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in Christ, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Thomas G. Jenkins, Jr., one daughter, Linda Marcella Taylor, two brothers, Thomas and Guy Robbs, one sister Mary Ann Simmons, one granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter. Ida Mae will be best remembered for her quick wit, easy laughter, and beautiful smile. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bible Baptist Childrens/Youth Ministries, P.O. Box 1111 Hazlehurst, Georgia 31539, of which Ida Mae was a faithful and generous supporter. Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 29, 2019 at Bible Baptist Church, visitation will begin at 1:00pm and funeral service will follow at 2:00pm with Rev. Manford Gilbert and Rev. James Neeson officiating. Interment will follow in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery. The family may be contacted at the Gilbert residence, 14 Lawton Court, Hazlehurst.
