Mr. Jackie Overstreet, Sr., age 78, of Hazlehurst died Monday, May 01, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah. Mr. Overstreet was born April 13, 1939 in Appling County to the late Evans Overstreet and the late Cleo Yawn Overstreet. He was retired from Hazlehurst Mills and a member of the Hazlehurst Church of God. He is preceded in death by his brother, C.W. Overstreet. Survivors include his wife, Nettie Mae Youmans Overstreet of Hazlehurst; son, Jackie Overstreet Jr. of Hazlehurst; sister, Betty Jo Smith of South Carolina; brothers, Evan Overstreet Jr. (Jenelle) of Alma, Billy Overstreet (Judy) of Cordell, Dale Overstreet of Baxley, Tommy Deen Overstreet of Tenn., Terry Overstreet (Sharon) of Baxley, Donnie Overstreet (Lavonna) of Reidsville, Bobby Overstreet (Karen) of Hazlehurst and Larry Overstreet (Patrisa) of Baxley; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 04, 2017 at 2:00pm at Hazlehurst Church of God with Rev. Nathan Smith, Rev. Keith Yawn and Mr. Jack Godfrey officiating. Interment will follow in the Palms Memorial Garden. Mr. Overstreet will lie in state one hour prior to service. Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements for Jackie Overstreet, Sr., age 78, of Hazlehurst.
