Obituary

Mr. James Eugene (Gene) Richardson, age 62, of Lumber City, died Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Memorial University Hospital in Savannah.

Mr. Richardson was born April 08, 1959 and was a lifelong resident of Telfair County. Mr. Richardson was a Mason with Masonic Lodge #199, and a member of Lumber City United Methodist Church. He was a devoted father and husband, and the best PaPa ever.

Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by his parents, W.H. Richardson and Georgie Williams Richardson, brother Jimmy Richardson, and sister-in-law, Brenda Murray, brother-in-law, Billy Hullett.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Murray Richardson of Lumber City; daughter, Melodie (Michael) Browning of Adel; son, Michael (Breanna) Richardson of Lumber City; sister, Margaret Hullett of Lumber City; brothers-in-law, Randy (Lee) Murray of Hazlehurst, Kenneth (Vickie) Murray of New London NC, and Wendall (Janice) Murray of Marietta; 6 grandchildren, Danielle Browning, Anna Browning, Hannah Browning, Henry Richardson, Emily Richardson, and Gabriella Browning; two great-grandchildren, Ivy Rose Wilcox and Stormi Jade Wilcox; several nieces, nephews and a host of cousins also survive.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 01, 2022 at 6:30-8:30pm at Lumber City United Methodist Church.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 02, 2022 at 11:000AM at Lumber City United Methodist Church with Rev. Rev. Andy Brownley and Rev. Harrell Hemmingway officiating.


Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City.

Active pallbearers will be Randy Brewer, Chris Murray, Henry McLean, Todd Brewer, James Pope, Chris Sammons, alt. will be Richard Taylor, Steve Strickland and Stacey Stone.

Musical selections will be rendered by Jessie Livingston and Travis Page.

The family may be contacted at the Richardson residence at 3607 East River Road, Lumber City, Ga.

The Richardson Family and Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home respectfully ask all in attendance to continue to follow social distancing guidelines set by our local health district and the CDC
