Mr. Jimmy Wayne Wood, age 63, of Hazlehurst, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Wood was born June 01, 1958 in Belle Glade FL but had resided in Jeff Davis County for the last several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Wood and Frances Christine McLemore Wood and sister, Dale Carroll. He was retired from Wal Mart Distribution. He enjoyed grilling, sports, softball,  loved his family dearly and spending time with them.

Survivors include his wife; Teresa Cox Wood of Hazlehurst;

two sons, Paul Wood of Hazlehurst and Tommy Wood of Hazlehurst; brother, Thomas Wood of Hazlehurst; and seven grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, March 01, 2022 at 1:30 pm in the Pine Crest Cemetery in Vidalia with Rev. Jinker Horton officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Austin Wood, Blake Wood, Cody Ewing, Kristopher Ewing, Mike Ewing and Jamie Bohannon.

The Wood Family and Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home respectfully ask all in attendance to continue to follow social distancing guidelines set by our local health district and the CDC.
