Mrs. Joann Norman Jump, age 80, of Hazlehurst, died Friday, December 11, 2015 at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Jump was born August 17, 1935 in Jeff Davis County to the late Fred Norman and the late Iona Branch Norman. She was retired from University of Georgia Extension Service with 28 years of service and was a member of First United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Wanda Denmark and LonDaie Stewart; brothers, Max Norman and M.A. Norman. Survivors include her Husband, D.L. Jump of Hazlehurst, Son and Daughter-in-Law, Sammy and Lynn Beecher of Hazlehurst; Daughter and Son-in-Law, Shannon J. and Tony New of Hazlehurst, Daughter, Gail Jump of Hazlehurst; Grandchildren, Justin Beecher and Ashley Beecher of Hazlehurst, Casey New Williams(and Cody) of Uvalda; Sister, Barbara (Steve) Connell; Sister-in-Law, Gloria Norman; several nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 6:00-9:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, December 13, 2015 at 3:00pm at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Baldwin and Rev. Jeffery Spell officiating. Interment will follow in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Jump will lie in state one hour prior to service.
