Joseph Allan (Joey) Simmons, age 56, of Hazlehurst, died Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Georgia Regents Medical Center in Augusta. Mr. Simmons was born February 07, 1959 in Jeff Davis County. He was a Truck Driver with Covenent Transport and member of Southside Baptist Church. Survivors include his parents, Edgar and Vilillian Simmons of Hazlehurst; Brother and Sister-in-Law, Eddie and Susan Simmons of North Augusta; Niece, Shelby Simmons; Aunt, Juanita Mims of Hazlehurst and Cousin, LaWanda Leggett of Hazlehurst. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00-8:00pm at Wainright Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 25, 2016 at 11:00am at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Milton Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Bridgeford Church of God Cemetery. Mr. Simmons will be placed in the Church one hour prior to service.
