John J. Balcom, age 44, of Hazlehurst, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Jeff Davis Hospital.

Mr. Balcom was born October 29, 1977 in Vidalia Ga. He was employed with South Georgia Coating (Kelvin and Angie Wilcox) for 19 years.

John was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. But he was more excited about his new baby boy, Drayden.

He is survived by his fiancé, Cherish McCall, son Drayden Jacob Balcom, bonus son, Bentley McCall, parents, Johnny and Alice Balcom of Hazlehurst; brother Nathon Balcom (Shaniece) of Stone Mountain Ga.; sisters, Angela Brown (Reshon) of Hazlehurst, Rotunda Balcom (Lawrence) of Baxley, LaDina Balcom of Hazlehurst, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Extended family is Kelvin and Angie Wilcox, Casey Wilcox, Lauren Ball and Lindsey Klees.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 19, 2021 at Hillcrest Baptist Church from 6:00-8:00pm.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 11:00am at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Brazzell and Rev. Jordan Ball officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hall and Wilcox Cemetery, Barney Road, Hazlehurst.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kelvin and Angie Wilcox, Donald and Robyn Crumpler, Casey and Bree Wilcox, South Georgia Coating Employees, Class of 1996, Jordan and Lauren Ball and Jay and Lindsey Klees.

Active pallbearers will be Ryan Miller, Jason Carver, Jeremy Wood, Nathon Balcom, Jonathan Rooks, Kyle Summerlin, Jonah Wilson, Casey Wilcox, Ashley Jacobs, Cyntelle Langston, Lennis Rooks, and Stephen Dukes.
