Mr. John Wiley Stapleton Jr., age 73, of Lumber City, died Friday, August 05, 2016 at Dodge County Hospital in Eastman. Mr. Stapleton was born February 03, 1943 in Telfair County to the late J.W. (Dub) Stapleton, Sr. and the late Annie Brewer Stapleton. He was a Farmer, Logger and a member of the Lumber City Church of God. He is preceded in death by his great-grandson, Ryder Herndon, sister, Myrtle Wood and brother, Hudson Stapleton. Survivors include his wife, Bennie Jones Stapleton of Lumber City; two Daughters and Son-in-Laws, Lynn Haymons Pickel and Jamie Pickel of Florida and Michelle and Chris Davenport of Hazlehurst; Son and Daughter-in-Law, John Wiley Stapleton III (Lee) and Tammy Stapleton of Lumber City; Sisters, Catherine Smith of Glenwood and Inez Evans of Woodstock; Brother, William (Billy) O. Stapleton of Warner Robins; Nine Grandchildren and Ten Great-Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5:00-7:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 08, 2016 at 11:00am at the Lumber City Church of God with Rev. David Deen officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City. Mr. Stapleton will lie in state one hour prior to service.
