Britt Stankowitz, age 38, of Hazlehurst, died Monday, May 08, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Stankowitz was born in Glynn County but had resided most of his life in Jeff Davis County. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving for 11 years and is preceded in death by his mother, Darlene Elizabeth Luke Watkins. Survivors include his daughter, Sterling Blake Stankowitz of Alma; son, Darton Stankowitz of Hazlehurst; father, James Troy Stankowitz Jr. of Dalton; brothers, James Troy Stankowitz III of Forsyth, Erik Watkins of Brunswick and James Watkins of Nashville; sister, Heather S. Hunter of Richmond Hill; paternal grandparents, James and Shirley Stankowitz and Ander and Betty Henderson of Hazlehurst; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survived. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 12, 2017 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Wigley officiating. Interment will follow in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville Ga. The family request no flowers, contributions may be made to a memorial fund at Bank of Hazlehurst. Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements for Britt Stankowitz, age 38, of Hazlehurst.
