Katha Lou Hughes, age 90, of Hazlehurst, died Sunday, March 08, 2015, at her residence. Mrs. Hughes was born August 27, 1924 in Long County to the late Roy Jacobs, Sr. and the late Julia Strickland Jacobs. She was a retired Ward Clerk with Glynn Brunswick Hospital and a member of Oakland Baptist Church. Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by two Brothers, Roy Jacobs, Jr. and J.F. Jacobs. Survivors include Two Sons, Obie Gene Hughes of Axson and Ronnie Hughes of Brunswick; Sister, Patsy Griffin of Hazlehurst; Six Grandchildren and Twelve Great-Grandchildren also survived. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6:00-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 11:00am at Oakland Baptist Church with Rev. Royce Hulett officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Mrs. Hughes will lie in state one hour prior to service.
