Mr. Laurence Edward Blakeslee, age 70, of Snipesville passed away Monday morning at his residence. Mr. Blakeslee was a native of Richmond, VA, and resided in Jeff Davis County for several years. He was the son of the late Laurence E. Blakeslee, and Elaine Renee Johnson Blakeslee. Mr. Blakeslee was retired from the Southern Company, Plant Hatch, as a Nuclear Plant Supervisor, and was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Blakeslee was preceded in death by granddaughter, Laura Pittman. Survivors include his wife Mrs. Carol Brogdon Blakeslee of Snipesville; daughters, Lisa (Donnie) Meyer of Augusta, Christy (Jeff) Norris of Snipesville, and Bonnie (Allen) Pittman of Hazlehurst; brothers, Dewey Johnson of Hazlehurst, Lance Blakeslee, and Mark Blakeslee both of Selma, N.C.; 10 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. The family may be contacted at the family residence at 83 Mt. Pleasant Church Rd., Snipesville. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Doug Weisel, and the Rev. Kenyon Fennell will officiate.
