Lillian Carter Marchant, age 86, of Hazlehurst, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014 in the Pavilion in Baxley. Mrs. Marchant was born December 7, 1927 in Appling County to the late Charlie Carter and the late Caroline Walker Carter. She was formerly employed by Hazlehurst Manufacturing as a supervisor with 50 plus years of service. She was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church and a proud member of the choir. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Bill Miller and Z.W. Marchant and daughter, Virginia Miller. Survivors include Three Daughters and Son-In-Law, JoAnne (Don) Quarterman of Hazlehurst, Melcene (Mike) Yawn of Waynesville and Sharon Kay (Rick) Wiggs of Jacksonville, FL.; Two Sons and Daughter-In-Law, Billy Ray (Aldine)Miller of Hazlehurst and Dan (Melinda) Miller of Hazlehurst; Sisters, Mary Taylor of Buenavista and Muriel Miller of Hazlehurst; Brothers, Otis Carter of Hazlehurst, Charlie Carter of Winsboro, S.C. and Arthur Carter of Hazlehurst; Nine Grandchildren, 24 Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6-8:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 25, 2014 at 2:00pm at Elizabeth Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Yawn, Rev. Royce Hulett and Rev. Mike Yawn officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Marchant will lie in state one hour prior to service.
