Mr. Lowell Stone, age 91, of Hazlehurst, died Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Community Hospice in Vidalia. Mr. Stone was born May 31, 1927 in Jeff Davis County to the late Harlow Clayton Stone and the late Minnie Lee Burk Stone. He was a Veteran of the United States Marines, serving during the Korean Conflict, retired from Hazlehurst Mills and a member of Bridgeford Church of God. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Stone of Hazlehurst; daughter, Aletha (Burk) Mobley of Cairo; son, Wade (Molly) Stone of Jacksonville FL; brother, Martin (Faye) Stone of Jeffersonville; four grandchildren, Dottie (Chris) Taylor of Cairo, Jackie (Kyle) Moye of Cairo, Jessie Stone of Jacksonville, FL and Scott Campbell of Jacksonville, FL; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survived. Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 26, 2018 at Bridgeford Church of God, visitation will begin at 10:00am and funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Rev. Wayne Merritt, Rev. Tyrone Hutchinson, Rev. Jeremy DeLoach and Mr. Jimmy McLeod officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
